Some artists need an album to make a name. Ceechynaa did it with three singles and an accent.

Born Chelsea Odosamamwen Ode in London on December 29, 2003, she grew up in South London to Nigerian parents and now calls Essex home. That Essex accent sits right at the front of her delivery. Hits magazine called it her trademark, and once you hear it, you know why.

Where it started

Her story with music began early. According to British Vogue, she started writing at 14 after a studio session with friends.

A year later, at 15, she went viral for something else: a speech about beauty standards in which she took off her wig and false lashes. It was an early sign of an artist willing to be seen exactly as she is.

She has named Nicki Minaj as a major inspiration. Her lane is UK drill, a hard-edged genre, and she works it with a dominant, flip-the-script point of view that puts her firmly in charge of her own story.

Three singles, one breakout

Ceechynaa's catalogue is short. Her official Spotify and Apple Music pages list three singles, released in December 2022, July 2023 and December 2024.

The third one changed things. Self-released on December 5, 2024, it entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 79 on December 19 and climbed to a peak of No. 59 on January 9, 2025. It stayed in the Top 100 for seven weeks.

The Official Charts Company also logged it at No. 12 on the Hip Hop & R&B Singles chart, No. 11 on the Independent Singles chart and No. 2 on Independent Singles Breakers. On Spotify, that track alone had passed 101 million streams when Street Buzz checked on October 20, 2026. Her artist page showed more than 1.1 million monthly listeners the same night.

Along the way, Wikipedia, citing Clash, reports that she performed with Tion Wayne at Reading Festival in 2023 and appeared on a Dazed cover that year. British Vogue interviewed her in January 2024.

Where things stand now

Here's the honest picture. Ceechynaa hasn't released new music in the last 12 months. Her official streaming pages still list the same three singles.

In July 2026, HypeFresh reported that faith-themed posts on her Instagram Stories had set off rumours that she was stepping away from music. The same report was clear on one point: "Ceechynaa has not publicly announced that she is retiring from music."

She hasn't confirmed new music, and she hasn't confirmed retirement. Street Buzz won't guess. When she has something to say, she'll say it in her own words, and we'll be listening.

A note on the music

Every Ceechynaa release is marked Explicit on Apple Music, and we haven't found official clean versions. If you're listening around family or at work, keep that in mind.
