Pozer raps like he's racing the beat, and most of the time he wins. Fast flows over Jersey club drums made the South London artist one of the most talked-about new voices in UK rap.
His name is Isaiah Sampson, and he was 23 when The Guardian sat down with him in May 2026. He grew up in South Norwood and moved around south London with his single mother, but as The Guardian put it, he "tends to say he's from Croydon." He later moved to Kent to live with his mum.
Speeding up
Pozer didn't always rap this fast. He told The Guardian he started out rapping "like MF Doom," at around 80 to 90 beats per minute, then picked up the pace. He started writing seriously during the Covid lockdown.
His sound grew out of that change. Press describe it as Jersey club and Jersey drill energy fused with UK rap. Drill is a hard-edged genre, and Pozer has been open with The Guardian about the life he lived before music.
He also has a mentor in the scene. Apple Music's editorial notes say he sees AJ Tracey as a "big brother" figure.
The breakout
His biggest song so far, a 2024 single, entered the UK Official Singles Chart at No. 29 in March 2024 and climbed to a peak of No. 22. Another single later peaked at No. 41.
Recognition followed. He was named on the BBC Sound of 2025 list. Then, on February 19, 2025, at the MOBO Awards in Newcastle, he won Best Drill Act. He was also nominated for Best Newcomer that night and performed during DJ AG's set.
He has since played Reading & Leeds in 2025, according to The Guardian.
His own way
On May 29, 2026, Pozer released his debut mixtape, a 12-track, 28-minute project. He put it out himself. AJ Tracey, Aitch and Kerchak all appear as guests.
He told Clash what the project means to him: "I'm at a crossroads between my life before music and my life going forward."
That line explains a lot. The mixtape isn't just a set of songs. It's a young man taking stock of where he's been and choosing where he goes next.
What's new
His latest single arrived on September 3, 2026, after he teased it online from July. Oculate called it a return to his breakout Jersey drill energy, complete with "blaring saxophones."
On Spotify, he had nearly 940,000 monthly listeners when Street Buzz checked on October 20, 2026.
A note on the music
Almost all of Pozer's catalogue is marked Explicit on Apple Music, and we haven't found official clean versions. Listen with that in mind.
